In 1949, Gene Olsen started splicing wire rope slings in his garage for Twin Cities-based contractors and construction companies. He saw that people needed reliable materials for their demanding work and he was innovative and hardworking enough to give them a solution that would work for them.

Gene Olsen was an iron worker in the Twin Cities when he started splicing wire rope slings in his garage. The work he started in 1950 was a reflection of the needs he saw in his industry every day.
